My Story

My favorite class at SFSU was Visual promotion and Merchandising since this class requires creative thinking and keen attention to detail. One of my favorite assignments was designing window displays. Learning about how to attract customers with visuals to get their attention was something very interesting to do. Also, working on the runway was one of the highlights of my Spring semester since it gave me experience and a notion of the pressure that you can get by working with deadlines.

My dream company to work for is a company where creative ideas are needed and people would have to  work and communicate in groups to accomplish goals and sales. I would love to work for a  company that supports diverse advertising in order to target consumers from all over the world and different marketing campaigns that involve chic and glamorous style and settings.

What I see happening in the apparel industry in the next five years is a more conscious customer who strives for quality and ethical practices of manufacturing clothes. Throughout the years I had noticed sustainability becoming a trend in more fashion brands, so I hope the customers demand fair treatments of employees and less textile waste in the landfills.

Someone I look up to in the Fashion Industry is Coco Chanel because of her background as being someone who started from zero to a revolutionary in feminine clothing. She created new fashion trends for women to look comfortable and classy at the same time by introducing trousers for women when women were supposed to wear skirts and dresses only. She was abandoned by her father when her mother passed away and she learned how to sew and took a huge interest in the fashion world. She is an example of persistence and was a revolutionary woman in the Fashion industry.
