My Story

Years ago, I was still deciding what I wanted to major in for my undergrad, and I realized that I truly was inspired by clothing and fashion - how clothing made me feel, seeing it as an art, and being inspired by how other people dressed around me - and I found out that I can major in fashion through FCS and not have to go to pay for some private art school to major in fashion.

I want to see global guidelines set for corporate social responsibility. Guidelines for sustainability need to not be vague and not be able to be picked and chosen from by companies. Also, I would like to see companies be accountable for the contracted labor forces that make their garments - which falls in the realm of global CSR standards.

I really hope to see a change in how we view consumption of clothing and that we don’t blindly follow the word of brands and their marketing tactics. I want to see fashion companies held accountable for the entire lifecycle of their products which includes the inevitable waste they produce.

I’m hoping I’m either deciding on whether I want to become a college professor or working with a fashion company in being a truly transparent and accountable brand.
